Hello,

It is a great privilege to be selected to do such an important work for a great project and with an outstanding team! As the Editor, I would like to use this introductory statement to reacquaint all readers with the aim of setting up the community. Before that I would like to share my motivation for taking up this task. My first attraction to The Mix was the availability of concise information on oil and gas related issues. Now, while this may seem to sound very cliché, it does not expunge the fact that during my “un-knowledgeable” days in oil and gas basics and surrounding issues, I was able to make sense of the information put up in the blog-format. The Mix! Oil and Water, is

an informative forum with the major goal of sharing information and ideas from excellent minds on topical issues- this is all part of its aim of promoting the concepts of Community of Practice, professional networks and engendering knowledge management. It is a giant insight that opens the door to knowledge! Now that is what excellence is all about.

Various issues ranging from: Fracking!”Getting to know the saga behind this technology? The climate debate! How the march towards low carbon development might be affected by the post-2012 uncertainty? Questions as to whether the recent divestment of interests of the oil and gas mogul in Nigeria is really an effective strategy to refocus Nigeria’s onshore assets? Where is Nigeria going in terms of regulation of the oil and gas industry? These and many more issues are what The Mix will bring to you in the coming weeks for your education and comments.

In the next six months, I will be hands on, in alliance with the rest of the team, to ensure that information regarding topical issues in the oil and gas sector and other surrounding issues are brought to your knowledge. We will be doing follow-ups on events in the oil and gas industry and various other proceedings to bring to the fore and discuss the highlights which we need to know about. It will be a rewarding journey for all of us! You, the readers are the excellent minds we refer to! We look forward to your contributions, views, comments and observations.
