OIL & GAS UK (Aberdeen): Making More of the North Sea

According to Oil & Gas UK: Making the most of the North Sea's existing asset base and ensuring better deployment of proven and emerging technologies will be critical to the future success of the UK's oil and gas industry.

Oil & Gas UK's breakfast focused on improving hydrocarbon recovery from the UK's existing North Sea assets, examining the factors preventing production and identifying aids to improve current performance. Shell addressed these issues by discussing how it deploys technology to improve recovery, drawing on experiences gained from operating its own portfolio and by presenting an update on its strategy for the North Sea. Wood Group Kenny then outlined how various industry approaches to engineering design for subsea tiebacks and how they engineer new technology into subsea projects can influence our ability to deliver new satellite fields in the North Sea.
