ARIN's CORNER--> PLANET MOON: Land for Sale

Plots of land available on planet Moon. Do not wonder what I am going on about here, all I am trying to say is the state of the earth is now getting to a very high alert level that I am getting worried if care is not taken; we may have to relocate from this planet to another, in this case the Moon (which is the only planet we have successfully explored as reported by NASA).

With the news we receive everyday on natural and anthropogenic occurrences, I thought to myself, maybe living in the West African country of Nigeria would be safer considering it’s close to the equator and hardly has reports of any disasters. But lately, this has proven to be a wrong assumption on my part, especially with the flash flooding that occurred in one of the coastal states Lagos on 11^th July, 2011 after several hours of heavy rainfall. And this is just an example of the various environmental occurrences.

All I can think of is how developers are filling up the oceans and seas, all in the name of building beautiful cities and how nobody is thinking of the side effects of pushing these water bodies back from their original positions such as higher water levels, ocean surges, flash flooding e.t.c ; except the monetary aspects of these ventures, although the earth seems to be getting overpopulated, but how many people can afford such luxuries. 

So, my question is: if severe heat wave grips most of the USA, LA Nina can cause devastation around the world, flash flooding hits Lagos, Nigeria; heavy snow brings Bolivia to a halt, rain continues to evade the horn of Africa, big freeze threatens Brazils coffee, wall of dust engulfs Phoenix and concerns grow as rains arrive in Pakistan; wouldn’t you consider moving to the Moon?
