Job description
The Oil & Gas Business Development
executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for
the company while ensuring that the fundamentals of the sales profession are
adhered to. He will make offers to customers mindful of the potential gains and
face up to competition in order to develop company’s market shares in an
increasingly competitive & monopolistic market. The position covers the
whole country.
He reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall
include but is not limited to the following:
Developing a regional market
- Keep a file on prospective customers based on general
information. Be positioned with known subscribers
- Classify files (Manage network of subscribers: obtain
information on subscribers and find new partners
- Widen scope of prospective customers and influence the
commercial strategy of subscribers
- Find new axes for widening range of subscribers. Conclude
regional and national partnership agreements (if possible)
Commercial Action Plans
- Ensure implementation of the regional marketing plan in
accordance with national strategic plans.
- Take initiatives in mailing, trade fairs, round table
conferences.
- Ensure there is coherence within the region.
- Propose an optimization of sales resources / development for
better regional membership and efficiency.
- Review action plan based on the probabilities of success
- Encourage regional orientation.
New Business: Bids
- Identify business opportunities and try
them.
- Execute standard bids and conclusive trials within the
framework of agreements. Create an autonomous framework for standard
applications. Be present at all new businesses.
- Identify and develop new applications. Ensure multiple trials
are carried out. Infiltrate competitive customers.
- Execute bids on all types of applications. Create an offer that
is more than customer account.
- Create radically innovative value added offers.
New Businesses: Negotiations
- Make proposals based on the standard bid and draw from
available expertise in the sector and conclude contracts on some standard
businesses and start them.
- Prepare strong negotiation points. Be involved in all customer
proceedings and in starting operations.
- Optimise trials, make adjustments and finalise trials as
quickly as possible and find solutions to challenges.
- Identify new forms of partnerships and new trends in the market
Relationship with current and
prospective customers
- Know the main enterprises in your market and territory as well
as customer operational processes. Be a listening ear to the customer
- Be close to decision makers. Estimate the vulnerability of
gains (strengths, weakness, competition)
- Be recognized for your expertise, adopted and called upon for
advice. Train customers on new products/applications
- Be knowledgeable to the point of being an authority in
customer procedures
Building of customer
loyalty
- Ensure that customers are served in accordance with company’s
commitment
- Initiate exchange of information at all levels and orientate
entire organization towards customer satisfaction
- Develop a spirit of HSE and seek to attain optimal quality with
available
means.
- Ensure that preventive and corrective measures are put in place
for each customer complaint in your market segment
- Know and monitor customers in your portfolio. Master their
organization and understand their processes and expectations.
- Identify the channels of decision making and the factors of
influence.
- Develop partnerships that enable you to explore for new
business opportunities.
- Analyse threats from competitors and identify important
targets that reinforce customer loyalty.
- Measure level of customer satisfaction and find ways to improve
upon it.
Relationship with group entities
- Network and establish good contacts.
- Coordinate and activate your market. Be known for your
ability to sell action plans, for project coordination and training on
applications as well as customer processes
- Influence, initiate and coordinate internal energies
Qualifications et experience
- B.Sc/HND in an Engineering course
- 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial function
- Must have good knowledge of marketing & efficient sales
techniques
- Must know how to handle project management and feasibility
study
- Must have good negotiation skills
- Should know how to formulate and monitor budgets and
elaboration of commercial bids
- Must have good understanding of application of gas and
materials for operating gas
- Must be creative and innovative
- Must have passion & enthusiasm for work
- High proficiency in MS Office applications
- Result oriented and outgoing
