What with the furore in Australia over the decline of the mining boom and the "$2 African Wage", the killings crisis in South Africa and the recent Spanish miners strike; how can this industry provide a balance between healthy corporate margins and appropriately remunerated workers? What are the concerns leading to this increasing trend of industrial actions within the mining industry; any global linkages or are these isolated local occurences; or...is this just the Resource Curse rearing its familiar ugly head?
